SouthWind boasts thousands of acres of wiregrass, long leaf pines, live oaks, and food plots making a perfect habitat for quail. Each tract is extensively managed with prescribed burning and food plots to ensure the quality our guests expect, year after year. SouthWind Plantation is professionally- managed for bobwhite quail, and every off season the woods are analyzed to ensure proper adjustment for even annual growth. SouthWind offers true plantation horseback and mule drawn wagon hunts and quail hunting by jeep. This offers each group the option to hunt their preferred style.

Wagon- drawn Hunt

Hunt quail as it was historically done. Our wagon hunts are perfect for families and hunters who enjoy the classic quail hunting styles. Our horses are some of the finest in the South. Our wagon is custom built for comfort and functionality, providing a classic yet comfortable experience.

Jeep Hunt

Our jeeps are also uniquely designed for quail hunting. There is dry storage for shells, rain gear, clothing, and enough room to accommodate six riders. Our jeeps pull a specially designed kennel which holds up to eight pointing dogs along with a special kennel for our famous flushing dogs.

Quail Hunting at SouthWind consists of two half day hunts. All of our hunts are based on two hunters per jeep, but special arrangements can be made. Our professional guides can accommodate every hunter from, the fittest to special needs hunters.

 Quail Hunting Season starts October 1st and runs through March 31st each year. Safety is our number one priority, all hunters must have a valid- current hunter safety course and for an additional safety feature, we recommend using over and under, or side by side shotguns for quail hunting.
